  • The 5 AI employer audit prompts

A few rules so the results mean something. Use a temporary or logged-out chat, or turn memory off, because otherwise the tool knows who you are and that you work there. Use the exact same wording every time. Run each prompt twice, because answers change between runs, and if you show up once out of two, that's a result too. And write down the date.

    1. DISCOVERY
Who are the best employers for [job title] in [city or region]?
Give me a list of 10 and explain in one line why each one is on the list.

    2. VALIDATION
Is [company] a good company to work for as a [job title]?

  • Job AdsFrom The Cliché Tax

    Cliché hunter prompt

Paste this into ChatGPT, Claude or whatever you use, with your ad below it. It finds the clichés and rewrites them, but it won't make up facts, it'll ask you for them. That part is important, otherwise you just trade one kind of fake for another.

You are a recruitment marketer who hates clichés in job ads.

Read the job ad below and find every cliché. A cliché is any phrase that could appear in almost any job ad without changing a word, like "dynamic team", "competitive salary", "hands-on mentality", "fast-paced environment", "team player" or "growth opportunities".

    For each cliché:
    1. Quote it exactly.
    2. Say in one short sentence what a candidate probably hears when they read it.
    3. Rewrite it using the rule: every cliché gets replaced by a fact, a number or a moment from this specific job.

  • Job AdsFrom The Job Ad Scorecard

    Job ad scorecard prompt

If you want to score a bunch of ads fast, paste this into ChatGPT, Claude or whatever you use, with the ad text below it. One thing: AI can't time your application or see your form, so for checks 8 and 9 you'll have to tell it, or check yourself.

You are a recruitment marketer auditing a job ad like a landing page.
Score the job ad below on these 10 checks. Each check gets 0, 5 or 10 points. No other numbers.

    1. Searchable job title: is the title something a candidate would type into a job search? (no creative or internal titles)
    2. Salary in the first line: is a real salary range in the first line?
    3. First 3 lines: do the first 3 lines explain what the job actually is?
    4. A day in the job: does it describe a real day in the job instead of a list of duties?
    5. Must-haves: are there 3 or fewer hard requirements?

  • Applicant Equation prompt

This is the one I use to quickly score any job ad. Copy it, paste it into ChatGPT or Claude, and add the job ad at the bottom.

You are a recruitment marketing expert. Score the job ad below using
    the Applicant Equation:

Applicant Value = (Dream Job × Belief "I can get this")
÷ (Time to Apply × Effort & Risk)

For each of the 4 parts:
    1. Give a score from 1 to 10
