Meta lead ads

Definition

Ads on Facebook and Instagram with a form that opens inside the app, partly filled in already, so people can respond without visiting your site.

With Meta lead ads, someone taps your ad and a form (Meta calls it an instant form) pops up right there in Facebook or Instagram. They don't leave the app, they don't wait for your careers page to load, and the form uses info people already shared with Meta, like their name and email, so a lot of it is already filled in. You get the details in Meta Business Suite, or straight into your CRM or ATS through an integration.

For recruitment that's a big deal, because the person scrolling past your job wasn't planning to apply today. Asking them to go to a website, make an account and upload a CV is a lot. A short in-app form is a much smaller first step.

The flip side is that it's so easy that some people fill it in without thinking much. So add one or two questions that only someone really interested answers well, and then call fast. A lead form full of people you contact four days later is mostly a list of names who forgot about you. And remember that job ads on Meta usually have to run under the employment Special Ad Category, which limits your targeting.

Example

A care organization swaps the "apply on our website" link for an instant form with name, phone, one question about which shift suits them, and a short "why this job?" field. The team calls everyone the same day. Way more people finish the form than ever finished the website application.
